Asphalt Booster Heat Exchangers
Booster heat exchanger before it has been insulated. This unit has four pipe shells, each containing a finned pipe.
Our booster heat exchangers are used to increase the temperature of asphalt cement as it flows through the unit. Heating is provided by hot oil from an external source such as a thermal fluid heater. The hot oil flows through finned pipe inside the unit.
The heat exchanger can boost the temperature of the asphalt up to 50 degrees F above its incoming temperature. Typical use is at asphalt terminals and roofing plants to boost the temperature of asphalt cement so it can be mixed with polymers.
