Preheater heats heavy fuel to lower its viscosity so it can be atomized by a burner. Preheater raises the temperature of heavy fuel up to 100 degrees F at a flow rate of 1,000 gallons per hour. Modulating control precisely controls fuel temperature. Removable coil bundle for easy cleanout. Fully preassembled and tested, ready for installation. Easily positioned with forklift.
Preheater is fitted with serpentine coils of finned pipe. Heated thermal fluid flows through the coils, transferring heat to fuel. Fins are serrated to increase the heat-transfer area of the pipe about 800 percent more than bare pipe. Modulating controls precisely control fuel temperature within one or two degrees of set point. As an option, preheater can be built to ASME code.
The entire coil bundle can be removed from the preheater shell for cleanout of sludge and debris left by heavy fuel. A drain valve facilitates draining water that may accumulate in the shell.
Preheater has 1-1/2 inches of fiberglass insulation. Control panels meet NEMA type 4 specifications to protect against windblown dust and rain, splashing water and hose-directed water.
The duplex strainer cleans debris from the heavy fuel as it is pumped to the preheater. Skid functions as a drip pan for all components and is fitted with a drain valve for safe collection of spilled fluids.
Preheater and other components are also available seperately.
