Temperature control Temperature control is achieved by a temperature sensor, a controller and a three-way valve. The valve controls flow of hot oil to the tank coils. The valve opens and closes in response to the controller to maintain the stored asphalt at set temperature. Heating is automatically shut off before the asphalt level drops below the tops of the heating coils.
